Create condition for Incoming Email
Create a condition for incoming emails, so that you can have different actions for emails from specific contacts or groups.
Tasker has a K9 plug in. Maybe a good first step is reading the Notification List and then we would setup Rules to notify based on searching in that text.
K9 pops a notification that shows the email TO: and the SUBJECT: We would setup a rule not any different than for unread SMS Notify. If Notification text contains "TO:email@example.com" then beep every 10 minutes.
Also would allow notifications for TONS of other things. New phones and apps have tons of things show up in the notification list.

This would be a killer feature, along with Google Talk messages.

also - google talk! messages from some people are a lot more important ;)
I work in IT and it's important for me to have different ringtones based on subject,
This would be amazing for me as I am constantly on call.

Im a BB convert, I use my EVO as an everything device (pager replacement). This would be an excellent feature as I use one email address(s) for Emergency Alerts that require my attention 24/7.On BB you can have an email account alert in any profile*** This is key when you have a job that requires after-hours on call support. I dont want to wake up for a FB friend request at 2 am, but a Data Center network outage or a primary server crash...WAKE ME UP! I have looked at alot of Apps for Android Devices and none of them allow this function. If one does I havent found it yet!
Wouldn't this be better implemented as a separate application, focussed on e-mail monitoring, which can call the Profile Switcher with parameters for the profile switcher to act on if necessary. E-mail monitoring and actioning should not be bloating up the Profile Settings switcher.
I've come from the (hack-ptuee) WM camp and seen a number of similar programs there which started as simple settings switchers and ended up bigger than Ben-Hur because of all the extra features.
Please remember that it is supposed to be a Profile Switcher - that's why I bought it, not to have it turned into a bloated monster which I have to upgrade to, just to get bug fixes for the Profile Switching functionality. KISS!
When implemented, this should also allow a search for a keyword within the subject of the message.
